What is business automation?
Business automation is software doing the repeatable part of a job, so a person only has to do the part that needs judgment. It is not one big project. It is usually five or six small ones.
What it actually looks like

Someone copies numbers between two screens every morning.
The system moves them on its own. A person checks only what looks wrong.

A customer’s question waits until someone has time to answer.
The first reply goes out immediately. A person steps in when it actually matters.

A report gets assembled by hand at the end of every week.
The report is already there on Monday morning. Nobody assembled it.
Where it usually starts
- The task someone complains about every single week.
- The copy-paste between two tools that don’t talk to each other.
- The follow-up that only happens when someone remembers to do it.
- The report that exists only because someone built it by hand, on a schedule, forever.
What it is not
It is not replacing your team. It is not a six-month transformation project, and it is not something that only works if you become technical. Most of it starts as one narrow, unglamorous task — done properly, on its own, without anyone remembering to do it.
