The short answer

What is an AI agent?

An AI agent is software with a job, not a chat window. You do not open it and ask it things. It has its own email address, it knows who your customers are, and it does work while you are asleep.

Three differences from ChatGPT

  1. ChatGPT waits for you to open it.

An agent has its own phone number and its own email address. Your customers write to it directly.

  2. ChatGPT forgets who your customer is.

An agent has a name and a memory. Next month it still knows who that customer is and what you agreed.

  3. ChatGPT gives you an answer.

An agent sends the email, books the slot, and follows up on Thursday when nobody replied.

What that looks like on an ordinary Tuesday

  • A question arrives at 23:00. It gets a real answer at 23:00, in Hebrew, in your business’s voice.
  • Someone asks about something you do not do. The agent says so, politely, and does not waste your morning.
  • A document you asked for never arrived. The agent notices on Thursday and asks again.
  • Something needs you. The agent hands it over with the whole conversation attached, not a notification.

What it is not

It is not a person, and it should not pretend to be one. It is not a chatbot with a menu of buttons. And it is not something you configure yourself over a weekend — an agent that touches real customers needs someone to decide what it may say, what it must escalate, and what it must never do.
